Satellite Beach Recreation Dept 2020 Fall Program COVID-19 UPDATE
The Satellite Beach Recreation Dept is continuing to offer programs and classes while following the guidelines set by the Governor of Florida, CDC, Satellite Beach City Council as well as recommendations from the National Recreation & Park Association and Florida Parks & Recreation Association.
Please note as we continue to adapt to any changes in COVID-19 guidelines that all programs and registration availability may continue to change. Programs may be required to alter their procedures to accommodate new guidelines as they arise. Once programs are full, it is important that you are placed on a waiting list. If group sizes can increase, some programs will be allowed to add students. The first to be allowed to register will be those on the waiting list.
All program ratios will adhere to current gathering guidelines. We are currently allow up to 25 participants in some cases. However, many of our programs will remain much smaller and size will vary depending on the activity and its location.
Program Instructors will ensure the 6’ distancing rules and will clean after each group if there is rotation of activities. Students will use hand sanitizer or hand washing before entering the facility classroom. Bathrooms and facility common touch surfaces will be cleaned multiple times a day.
Parents may enter the DRS Community Center to drop off their children for class. Currently, there is no waiting area inside while your child is in class. We ask that parents/students do not linger inside the DRS. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Masks are mandatory to be worn inside any city facility unless exercising per city ordinance. All students will be required to follow 6’ guidelines. Temperature checks will be taken prior to entry to class.
We are excited to be able to offer several new recreational programs. It is our hope that programs unable to resume, may do so in the near future. Please bear with us as we continue to strive to offer the Satellite Beach community recreational opportunities for all ages in a safe, fun & engaging manner.
Program refunds must be requested at least five full business days prior to the start of the class, unless otherwise noted. If you notify the Recreation Department later than five full business days, but before the first day of class, you may receive a partial refund. No refunds will be issued the day of or after the class has begun.
